Can I book a move into or out of university halls?
Student moves can be booked through Porta between home, university halls, shared houses and private flats across the UK. Check any arrival, departure, parking or loading rules with the accommodation before choosing your collection time.
Can I move home at the end of term?
You can book an end-of-term student move through Porta from your university address to home, a new tenancy or another UK address. Porta does not provide storage, so the delivery address needs to be ready to receive the load.
Can I choose one- or two-person help?
Porta's itemised online quote offers one-person and two-person help. Choose two people when furniture, appliances or the size of the load means it should not be handled by one person.
Can I book a long-distance student move?
Long-distance student moves can be booked through Porta between UK addresses, including journeys between home and a university in another part of the country. The route, item list, access and help selected all contribute to the quote.
Does Porta pack or dismantle my belongings?
Porta does not provide packing, dismantling, storage or packing materials. Pack boxes, suitcases and loose belongings securely before collection, and complete any dismantling needed before the driver arrives. Add each separate item to the online quote, with dimensions or photos for anything awkward.
Who carries my belongings?
Your move is completed by a vetted independent driver matched through Porta. Porta operates the booking platform; it is not the carrier or the driver's employer.
