A moving service for smaller loads
From a city flat to a lighter move from home
Small Removals is suitable for many studios, one-bedroom flats and rented rooms in Chester. It also works when furniture and belongings from part of a larger home are changing address. Add everything that is moving, from beds and appliances to clothes, kitchenware, bags and boxes.
The online quote uses the two addresses, item list and booking options to show the fixed price before you commit. Once booked, Porta connects the job with a vetted independent driver.
For more examples of suitable loads and a closer look at the online quote, visit our national Small Removals service page.

Moving the contents of a complete multi-room home? Our House Removals service provides a custom quotation for larger household moves.
What Small Removals can cover
One room, a compact flat or part of a household
Furniture, appliances and packed belongings can all be included when the job is smaller than a complete multi-room house move.
A studio or one-bedroom flat
Include the furniture, appliances and packed items from every room in the property.
Leaving a rented room
Take your bedroom furniture and the belongings kept in shared areas, such as kitchen items, books, clothes, bags and boxes.
A lighter move from a family home
Book the items changing address when furniture and possessions from several rooms are going but the rest of the household is staying.
Shared entrances and city-centre streets
Property access and loading in Chester
Flats and shared entrances
Record the floor, lift, stairs, entry system and any narrow doors or turns in the quote-form notes. Include measurements when larger furniture has a tight route outside.
Loading in central Chester
Check the restrictions outside both addresses before moving day. The pedestrianised city centre has timed vehicle access, so the collection may need to be planned around the permitted hours.
Cheshire West and Chester Council says vehicle access through Northgate Street is normally permitted before 10.30am and after 4.30pm, with additional restrictions on named streets. Check its current Chester city-centre access guidance.
