An outline of the contents of each room and an estimate of the boxes gives us a starting point. Flag anything particularly heavy, fragile or difficult to carry.
The two properties
Include details of stairs, narrow entrances or steps outside at either home. A bungalow with a long garden path can involve more carrying than the address alone suggests.
Your journey and date
We’ll need both full addresses and your preferred moving date to work out the journey and timing.
Moving somewhere smaller
A move to a smaller house or bungalow can still mean moving most of a household. We’ll base your quote on what you’re taking, including anything from the garage or garden.
Leaving some things behind
You can leave furniture off the list if it isn’t part of this removal, such as a wardrobe staying for the buyers or a table that family will collect themselves. Still deciding about a few pieces? Mention those separately in your enquiry.

Is there a set price for a three-bedroom house in Bournemouth?
The bedroom count alone doesn’t tell us enough to price the removal. A house with a full garage and loft can be a much bigger job than another with the same number of rooms. Your quote takes the contents, access and journey into account.
Do I need an exact box count to ask for a quote?
An estimate is useful when you’re still packing. Include it with your room-by-room outline, then let us know if the amount changes significantly before the move.
Should everything be packed before moving day?
Have your boxes packed, sealed and labelled before collection, and empty loose belongings from furniture. Keep the things you’ll need during the day, such as keys and important documents, with you.
Can I share a video of the house with my enquiry?
You can include a link to a video or photos. Show the rooms and any furniture that needs particular care, along with tight turns or doorways that might be difficult to get it through.
What happens if our moving date changes?
Contact Porta as soon as the date changes so we can review the arrangements with you. A booking for the original date doesn’t confirm availability for a different one.
What if we decide to leave more furniture behind?
Send us the changes before moving day, even if it means there’s less to take. The quote is based on the move you described, so we’ll need to check whether the changes affect it.
