Porta connects law firms, solicitors and barristers' chambers with vetted independent drivers for the direct, dedicated delivery of legal documents and court materials across the UK.
When something has to move today, a booking process that takes 48 hours to clear is no use to anyone. A court bundle that needs to reach the clerk's office before the 4pm cut-off. A contract requiring a wet ink signature before exchange completes. A set of deeds that cannot wait for tomorrow's post. Porta matches you with an independent driver who collects directly and delivers without detour.
The platform is not built around parcel labels or sortation hubs. It is built around one driver, one job, one destination. Get a quote in seconds.

Legal work runs on deadlines. A court bundle that misses its window, a contract that doesn't reach the other side in time, a set of deeds delayed in a depot sorting process. These aren't minor inconveniences. They can have real consequences for clients and for firms.
Porta is a platform, not a courier company. It connects you with independent drivers who handle each job as a dedicated, direct run. The driver who collects is the driver who delivers. No relay handovers, no depot stops, no co-loading with other consignments. Your documents go from your office to their destination without detour. Standard parcel networks are built around volume and sorting. A dedicated platform run is built around one job getting done, on time, directly.
Porta connects law firms with vetted independent drivers for direct, same-day legal document delivery
Court bundles are among the most frequent requests. Large, heavy, time-stamped, needing to arrive at a specific court room well before a hearing. But the range goes further than that.
Signed contracts and deeds moving between parties in a conveyancing transaction. Powers of attorney. Wills and probate documents. Settlement agreements. Passports and identity documents supporting immigration or legal proceedings. Sworn affidavits. Evidence files and sealed materials for ongoing litigation. The common thread across all of them is that they are sensitive, time-pressured, and not suited to a general parcel network.
As long as you have a collection address and a delivery address, Porta can generate an instant quote and match you with an available driver.

Worth knowing
Porta books single A-to-B trips. If your delivery involves multiple drop-off points, for example a bundle going to court followed by a copy to the client's office, this counts as a multi-stop job and needs to be arranged directly with Porta by email. Standard bookings cover one collection address and one delivery address.
The most pressing legal deliveries are almost always same-day. A hearing starts at 10am, the bundle needs to be at court by 9:30, and your options narrow quickly. Porta matches you with available drivers in your area, and where a driver is nearby, collection can happen within hours of booking.
Under CPR 39.5, trial bundles must be filed no less than three clear days before the hearing date. Court orders typically require compliance by 4pm on the specified date. Missing either can result in rejected filings or applications being struck out. A dedicated driver collecting directly from your office and delivering to the correct court, registry or tribunal removes the risk that a parcel network introduces.
Porta regularly handles same-day runs to Crown Courts, County Courts, the High Court, Employment Tribunals, Family Courts, Companies House and Land Registry offices across England, Scotland and Wales. For time-critical situations, the same-day courier service gives you the fastest route to getting a driver matched.
Can Porta deliver to a court on the same day?
Yes, where a driver is available in the collection area. Collection can usually happen within hours of booking. Same-day court delivery depends on driver availability and the distance involved. The quote process will confirm timing.
Are the drivers vetted?
All Moving Partners on the Porta platform go through ID verification including DVLA check code, proof of driving licence, insurance documentation, address verification and bank details. They are independent drivers, not Porta employees.
What insurance cover is available for legal document deliveries?
It depends on the booking tier. Essential bookings rely on the driver's own insurance arrangements. Standard bookings include goods-in-transit insurance claim support arranged via Porta. Premium adds faster damage resolution on top. For legal materials, Standard or Premium is the more appropriate choice for most firms.
Can we set up a business account for regular legal deliveries?
Yes. Law firms with regular delivery needs can access a Porta business account for simplified booking and consolidated invoicing. Visit the business page for details.
Does the same driver handle the entire delivery?
Every booking is a dedicated point-to-point run. The same driver who collects delivers. There are no depot stops, relay handovers or co-loading with other consignments. Your documents travel directly from pickup to destination.
Can Porta handle multi-stop legal deliveries?
Standard bookings cover one collection address and one delivery address. Multi-stop requirements need to be arranged directly with Porta by email as a bespoke booking.
