Worth knowing
Porta books single A-to-B trips. If your delivery involves multiple drop-off points, for example a bundle going to court followed by a copy to the client's office, this counts as a multi-stop job and needs to be arranged directly with Porta by email. Standard bookings cover one collection address and one delivery address.
Same-day legal courier service
The most pressing legal deliveries are almost always same-day. A hearing starts at 10am, the bundle needs to be at court by 9:30, and your options narrow quickly. Porta matches you with available drivers in your area, and where a driver is nearby, collection can happen within hours of booking.
Under CPR 39.5, trial bundles must be filed no less than three clear days before the hearing date. Court orders typically require compliance by 4pm on the specified date. Missing either can result in rejected filings or applications being struck out. A dedicated driver collecting directly from your office and delivering to the correct court, registry or tribunal removes the risk that a parcel network introduces.
